Modern Slavery Statement
Movers Bromley Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps taken by Movers Bromley to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our own operations and in our supply chains. Movers Bromley is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships, and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not occur anywhere in our business or those of our suppliers.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Movers Bromley has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour and all forms of exploitation. We do not tolerate any practices that are incompatible with respect for human rights, and we expect the same commitment from all those with whom we work.
All employees, contractors and suppliers are required to comply with this policy as a condition of working with Movers Bromley. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any breach by a supplier or contractor may result in termination of our relationship.
Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
We regularly assess the risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains, with particular attention to areas that may involve low-skilled or temporary labour, subcontracted services or sourcing from higher risk sectors. Our due diligence procedures are designed to identify, prevent and address potential or actual instances of modern slavery.
Before engaging new suppliers, we conduct risk-based assessments that may include background checks, review of labour practices, verification of identity and right to work, and confirmation that the supplier has appropriate policies and controls in place.
Supplier Standards and Audits
Movers Bromley expects all suppliers to uphold the highest standards of human rights and labour practices. We require suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded or involuntary labour and that they do not tolerate human trafficking, child labour or any form of exploitation.
We conduct periodic supplier audits, proportionate to risk, to monitor compliance with our expectations. These audits may include site visits, document reviews, and confidential interviews with workers, either directly by Movers Bromley or through reputable third parties. Where non-compliance is identified, we work with suppliers to implement corrective action plans within clear timescales. Failure to make satisfactory improvements may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Training and Awareness
To support effective implementation of this statement, relevant employees receive training on recognising the signs of modern slavery, understanding our policies, and knowing how to escalate concerns. Management teams involved in procurement and supplier management receive enhanced guidance on responsible sourcing and supplier oversight.
We also promote awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce, reinforcing our zero-tolerance stance and the importance of speaking up about any concerns.
Reporting Concerns and Protection
Movers Bromley encourages all employees, workers, contractors and suppliers to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking at the earliest opportunity. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including line managers or senior management, or via any designated reporting mechanism communicated within the business.
We are committed to ensuring that no one who raises a concern in good faith suffers any form of retaliation, victimisation or disadvantage. All reports are treated seriously and investigated promptly and sensitively, with appropriate action taken where issues are identified.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Movers Bromley recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually improving our processes, strengthening our due diligence and enhancing supplier engagement to reduce the risk of exploitation in our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed annually by senior management to ensure it remains effective, relevant and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. Where necessary, we update our policies, training and procedures in response to changes in legislation, risk assessments and feedback from stakeholders.
By publishing this statement, Movers Bromley reaffirms its commitment to upholding human rights, promoting fair and safe working conditions, and working collaboratively with employees, suppliers and partners to eradicate modern slavery in all its forms.
